So necessary! Thanks for this essay! My experience tells me that sometimes civil lawsuits are necessary. What I've observed is the same studied ignorance--deciding NOT to see one's privilege--often undergirds the continued homogeneity in corporate settings.
I've tried to disseminate this study, by Dr. Brian Lowery (Standford) because it recommends to white people a pragmatic approach to dealing with their privilege: actively avoid denial of it.
