I agree with the article and Ms. Moore’s post.
In fact, the bottom line is that a white supremacist society needs to provide support and reimbursement for the black bodies it used explicitly to gain power in the world.
White people should provide whatever black people need to feel comfortable in the wake of the 500 years of dominance which continues.
I will say that any avoidance of slavery which is taken in a public arena is likely done to ameliorate the moral imperative for reparations. White people as a group do not want to pay reparations, and they will do whatever they need to do to avoid this accountability. This is different from black people avoiding even more trauma beyond the significant degree to which they are already subjected to it.
Not discussing slavery is simply one weapon in a very large arsenal of psychological tools used by whites to maintain white supremacy.
