How about less critical but also appalling: disregarding higher scoring Asians for colleges in favor of underperforming white donor children? How about the multiple people of color professionals who hit the chlorine ceiling, sometimes watching lower performing white people get the career-trajectory promotion the POC earned? Even these less critical features are part of our lives of cancellation. It's worth pointing out that people who perform at higher levels but watch lower performers get the reward are eventually going to disengage.

Is this what a country which wants to maintain competitiveness should do? Continue to allow mediocrity to file upwards while POCs decide how to check out of a system that doesn't truly recognize us?

We can see how this is a dead end for larger society.
