He basically admitted his mediocrity with this sentence. He acknowledges that without black people as a group — who are forced between a rock and a hard place — he couldn’t win. It’s embarrassing that these guys continue to try when they are surrounded with POC’s performing at much higher levels than they are.

Biden’s behavior replicates what I’ve watched at a corporate level for decades: old white people know that their performance is mediocre, yet instead of allowing real quality to lead, they let the entire context drift downwards towards mediocrity to protect their own egos.

Biden should step aside and let a real leader lead. He’s surrounded by POC’s, female ones at that, doing better than he is. He should be thrilled to be vice-president again. Like many white people at higher levels, he’s a follower, not a leader.
